Mikhail turned two...19 March 2012
Yesterday 19 March 2012, Mikhail turned two,
Brought back memories of what I went through.
The 22 hours labour, the contractions, the pain,
Two years ago, that pregnancy drove me insane.
But on hindsight, the pain was worth every bit,
When I look at my son....for me he really is the cutest.
His naughtiness, his laughter, his infectious smile,
He really has made my journey of motherhood worthwhile.
Life with him has been one roller coaster ride,
It leaves you with the warmest of feelings inside.
Yes, I've turned grey and my back at times ache,
Being a mother ain't a mochalicious chocolate cake.
Just watching him grow and develop in these past years,
Has made me all mushy and my eyes are filled with "Happy mommy" tears.
No career, no money can give me such satisfaction, such joy,
No words can express the happiness I get from being the mother of Mikhail,
My lil hunk, my lil hero, my two year old boy!!

Why God Why????????
God, so many questions but you have no answers......
Why do you give us hope when you know there is no hope?
Why do we love somebody when we know we'll never be loved back in return?
Why do we love even though we know it hurts?
Why do you give life when you also give death?
Why do you give feelings of hate when you also give us feelings of love?
Why do you make chocolates and desserts more desirable than vegetables?
Why did you make mangoes the tastiest fruit but also highest in calories?
Why did you create some of us black, some white, some blue eyed, some brown eyed?
Why did you create disparity in wealth...some rich some poor...some over stuffed...some over starved?
Why do you make some of us fat, some of us too thin...but nobody with a perfect figure?
Why is it when we want to sleep, you don't give us rest and when we don't want to rest, you make us fall asleep?
Why did you make women give birth and not men...don't give me the Adam and Eve thingy??
Why are boys given preference over girls?
Why did you give women menstrual cycles and Pms and not men?
Why why why??? There are so many more questions...but I guess you'll never be able to answer the ones I've asked...

XES of SEX
Too much sex sex and sex
Sometimes I feel it's really in XES (excess)
The tabloids instead of giving news of what's happening in the world
Give tips on how to woo a man or bed a girl.
There's tips on various positions and steps,
On myths, on erogenous points and even how to neck.
And now sex has reached our Indian soaps too,
Where a whole episode of "Bade Ache Lagte hain",
shows how Ram has Priya to bed wooed.
Our Hindi movies too, have gone steps forward,
Long gone are the days where sex or kissing was shown,
with the shaking of two flowers.
Sex is important and it really is great,
But tabloids and media don't have to keep throwing it in our face.
It's a special bond shared between two people,
I fail to understand how people in Bandstand, Mumbai on the rocks nestle and cuddle.
I pity their backsides on the rocks on which they "do it"
Can't they find some place little safer and more private.
But we too have to move with the times,
Wonder when I'll have to sex-educate my son,
the world is moving real fast,
Im sure it'll be much earlier....
before he turns nine!

The In-Laws are coming.....
The in-laws are coming...
In three days they'll be here,
For the first time, we'll all be living under the same roof,
in my marriage of three years.
Yes, I am happy and excited, but to be honest, frightened too,
I hope they enjoy their stay with us and are happy with what I do.
I know I'll take good care of them and treat them very well,
I hope they appreciate the food I cook and together we all gel.
We'll take them to the Dolphinarium and atop the Burj Khalifa,
to the various malls, the parks and even big old Ikea.
They can spoil their first grandchild and play with him all day
Mikhail will surely enjoy all the pampering and keep them entertained, in his own childish way.
I love my independence and the thought of just Nigel, Mikhail and me,
We love doing things the way we want and living separately.
But now being five human beings, is a whole new equation,
In our small family of three, there'll be a slight alteration.
But they are Nigel's parents and I treat them as my own,
They are wonderful people, in my three years,
I have learnt and my fondness for them has grown.
They have always treated me as a daughter and never a daughter-in-law,
And for me they'll never be my in-laws,
but what they like to be called, always "Mummy and Papa"!

One life to live...so live it...
We have one life to live, so Live it,
If you love somebody, don't hesitate, Say it,
If you want to do something do it now, don't procrastinate,
You'll suddenly realize that tomorrow is too late.
If an opportunity comes your way, take it,
Don't contemplate and waste your time,
Some opportunities are sometimes very rare to find.
Life is a risk, we sometimes got to take a chance,
It can't be a well directed staged romance.
Yes, we may make mistakes along the way,
But we won't get back the past.... yesterday.
Life moves quickly and suddenly we'll realize
That our life has passed and time surely flies.
So live your life to the fullest, like there's no tomorrow,
Give it your best shot and live happily in the present,
Don't waste time wailing over past sorrows.

Good ole' Laughter....
Laughter is the best medicine wise men say,
Why waste your time on crying or grumbling when things don't go your way.
Laughter has many benefits....it really does,
It's a Great destresser, makes you look young and boosts relationships,
makes you feel more in love.
And there's no need of exercising, cause it helps reduce weight too
It gives great sleep, so ditch that sleeping pill on the dresser,
you've kept there especially for you.
You may Laugh out loud Or laugh ha ha ha or hee hee hee,
And then, the magic you'll see instantly,
Laughing is indeed a lot of fun,
Forget the number of teeth you have,
even if you have just two, three or even none.
By raving and ranting at situations which sometimes go out of hand,
Why while away our time with worries,
when they too pass away quickly like swift sinking sand.
So laugh away your troubles,
They may not go away,
But one thing I know for sure,
Laughter makes life fun and worth living,
each and every single day.

I am proud to be a WOMAN...
I am what I am ....A Woman,
And proud to be one too.
A woman can do many things, better than others can do.
We can cook, we can clean,
we can wash and mop,
We can dress up, look our best after a hard day and even shop non-stop.
We can manage deftly both work and house,
Take care of our family, children and spouse.
We are compassionate, kind, we can multi-task,
We may be impatient, confuse men when at the same time, we cry and laugh.
But like men, we may not be physically very strong,
But mentally and emotionally we are stronger,
and that cannot be proved wrong!
We are a daughter, a friend, a wife,
A mother, a companion, a sister,
the center of many people in our lives.
I am a woman,
And one, I am proud to be,
I will never exchange it ever, till eternity,
Yes, we may be the fairer sex, but not the weaker,
All people out there love the woman, the girl child,
With respect learn to treat her!

That's what love and marriage are about....
Sometimes in life you stumble upon people with whom you make an instant connection,
You may know them for a very short time, but there is a very strong attraction,
I can vouch for the above and say it's true as that's what happened, to Nigel and me,
We met at work, started dating and fell in love instantly.
I've realised, you don't need to spend your whole life learning about somebody,
If a relationship is meant to happen, there has to be some chemistry.
Yes, the laws of physical attraction and biology also apply,
You can't enjoy physical pleasure or produce babies by staring into one another's eyes.
But besides physical acts of love and pleasure,
We cherish our time, we spend with each other,
Endless talking and laughing and communicating,
And maybe hearing the sound of silent breathing and snoring.
That's what I feel marriage is about,
A concoction of love, understanding, emotions...all mixed together....without a doubt.
A meeting of hearts and bodies but also a meeting of minds,
A feeling which is so unique, so rare to find.
And as time passes, our looks will fade
We may be bald, senile and have flab bulging from our rear or waists,
But one thing is certain and that I am sure,
our love for each other will remain unconditional, only increase and never disappear.

Unconditional love!! What is it!!
Unconditional love, what is it!!
Is it a love you feel for someone without expecting anything in return,
Such love is pure and unadulterated, even though your heart for that person burns.
You continue to love that person, knowing that person does not love you.
Such love is not expressed but a hundred percent true.
Unconditional love is not demanding or possessive,
Not wanting or questioning or aggressive.
It's accepting the other person with all their mistakes and flaws,
And loving them still, no matter the rejection or dejection or pain they cause.
It's like the love a mother has for her child,
No matter how much s/he troubles her or drives her wild,
The love she has for her/him is always unconditional deep inside.
She'll stand by her child in the strongest of tides.
A love so unconditional, so difficult to understand or realise.
Or like the love for a lover or a wife or husband,
Or for your family or closest friends,
They may hurt you or you may hurt them,
But your love for them will never end.
So love unconditionally from the bottom of your heart,
Even though you're far and it may tear you apart.
Cause' sometimes you don't need to be close in distance to love somebody,
You may love them always till eternity,
that's what it's called " to love someone, unconditionally!"
