THAILAND TRAVELS - Day 5

Day 5 - 23 May 2012

From Bangkok to the back and beyond of Thailand, Kanchanaburi nearly three hours away from Bangkok, 700 ams from Myanmar ( Burma). A small little town which reminds me of the little towns in India away from the big metros.
The resort Dheva Mantra is so far away from the town..we feel one with nature, lots of greenery, birds, flowers and beautiful rooms, overlooking the river Kwai. Very quiet and serene....imagine waking up to the chirping of cuckoos or tap tap of a woodpecker...so different from City life.
The only drawback of this resort is they don't provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, luckily we always carry ours as back up. Also the resort is away from any sort of transportation so we are totally dependent on the resort shuttle service where the poor bell boy doubles up as a driver and sometimes as manager too.
Went to the night market at the bus station...filled with food...but I'm put off now by the sights and smells...so we stuck to tuna sandwiches and chicken burgers and blueberry cheesecakes from the resort which were pretty good. Enough of Thai....no Thai food for a month...all the phads and the khaos and the other words pri....etc etc.....
Looking forward to a relaxing two days before we head back to Dubai....back to the grind and back to being Mrs. Cinderella Rangel ( though I miss it now).

Till then I'll enjoy Kanchanaburi with all it's beauty and sounds...something which I miss in Dubai.
