Bountiful Buffets

I love the concept of buffets,
My eyes shine bright and mouth turns into a wide smile just seeing numerous dishes on display.

The buffet called Smörgåsbord was invented by the Swedes
And Dimsums by China, where you select food from plates on wheeled trolleys.
In Japan, a buffet is known as ' Baikingu' which means 'Viking',
They also have a separate dessert buffet, much to my liking.

But what I love most is the unlimited "All-you-can-eat" started by an American Herb Macdonald in the late 1940's.,
It surely is a gastronomical delight where 'our eyes are bigger than our tummy'.
Stuffing ourselves to the greatest capacity.

The sights and smells of different regions,
Be it Indian, Arabic, American or Pan-Asian,
Russian, Swedish, French or even Italian.
This buffet is surely 'The eight wonder of the world' for those with a culinary passion.
You get to choose from a variety of soups, salads, hors d'oeuvre or starters,
Different types of bread, beverages, meats, seafood and live counters.

But the desserts are the best of all,
Where you get to eat Tiramisus, Carrot cakes, mousse and rumballs.
And different flavours of ice cream,
Hazelnut and chocolate, blueberries and strawberries with cream.
All this you can eat under one roof you see,
By just paying for all this unlimited food, a limited fee.

Buffets do make you commit the sin of gluttony,
And tests the capacity of our oversized tummies.

But we don't commit this sin everyday,
So make those reservations for the Christmas Brunch now, since Christmas is just a week away.
Forget the battle of the bulge,
Celebrate and enjoy,
Dieting can wait till after January, one.
Till then eat, indulge and have fun.
